Starting Soon: The FIRST Alive with Clive SuperStar Contest!

Hello Friends:

In a Blog post I published on October 6, 2012, which you can see when you click here, I mentioned that I am going to launch a series of contests to create Alive with Clive SuperStars.

I’m excited to announce that I have just set up the infrastructure on the Internet to determine The FIRST Alive with Clive SuperStar.

With this Blog post, I am announcing the names of the 16 singer/songwriters who will be competing in The FIRST Alive with Clive SuperStar Contest, as well as The Draw for the Contest.

While modifications are likely to be implemented over time, at the outset I envisage that the Contest will work like this:

1. As you will notice when you see The Draw, in the First Round there will be eight Matches.
2. In each Match, if you want to vote you will need to watch the show on Alive with Clive featuring each contestant and answer five questions from each show.  You will also be asked to indicate the contestant for whom you are voting, and nominate a charity.
3. To vote, you must be a Bronze, Silver or Gold Member of The Alive with Clive Global Community.  To become a Bronze Member for free if you are not already a Member, click here.
4. The contestant with the most votes in each Match will proceed to the next round.  The Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals and Finals follow the First Round.
5. No more than one Match will take place during any one week, and it is likely that voting will be permissible on only five of the seven days of any particular week.
6. Everyone who answers the 12 questions in accordance with the procedures specified for voting will be entered in a contest to win prizes.
7. There will be two kinds of prizes:  Weekly Prizes and Grand Prizes.
8. Bronze, Silver and Gold Members of The Alive with Clive Global Community will be eligible to win Weekly prizes.
9. Only Silver and Gold Members who have been Silver or Gold Members for at least eight weeks before the Final will be eligible to win the Grand Prizes.
10. The singer/songwriter who wins the Contest will be designated an Alive with Clive SuperStar and will also win a prize.
11. Prizes will also be awarded to the singer/songwriter who is the Runner-Up, as well as to the two other singer-songwriters who are Semi-Finalists.
12. The three charities that receive the most nominations will receive contributions of funds provided by sponsors.
13. The charity that receives the most nominations will receive the highest contribution, the charity with the second highest number of nominations will receive the second highest amount, and the charity with the third highest number of nominations will receive the remainder of the amount allocated to the three winning charities.
14. Charities will therefore be motivated to encourage their supporters to vote in the Contest, and the supporters in turn will thus become acquainted with singer/songwriters in the Contest.
15. To determine which Match of the eight Matches in the First Round will occur first, eight concealed scraps of paper numbered 1 through 8 will be placed in a hat and the Match that corresponds to the number that is pulled first will be the Match that occurs first.  The same procedure will be repeated to determine the order of the remaining Matches.
16. After eight weeks, all of the eight Matches in the First Round will have been completed, and the same procedure will be used to determine which Quarter-Final and Semi-Final Match will occur first.
17. The order in which a Match occurs will not alter the position of any of the contestants in the Draw.
18. While the specific start date for the first Match of the contest has not yet been set, the 16 contestants are thus well advised at this stage to let their fans know that they will be asking them to vote for them to become The FIRST Alive with Clive SuperStar, and refer them to this Blog post so their fans can begin to enjoy the benefits of being a Member of The Alive with Clive Global Community for free now.
19. While no one will be able to vote more than once in any Match, everyone will be able to vote once in each Match.
20. The prizes in the contest have not yet been determined.

In light of the popularity of such song-contest shows as American Idol, The X Factor and The Voice, the Contests to determine Alive with Clive SuperStars are likely to prove popular to, and in due course engage the participation of, millions of music lovers all over the world.

What makes these Contests unique, among other factors, is that only original songs written by the singer/songwriters who are interviewed on Alive with Clive have been performed by them on the show.

With this Blog post, I am announcing that I am seeking prizes and sponsorship from individuals and companies who would like extensive free exposure by providing prizes or funds for the Contest.

As soon as I have prizes and sponsorship in place, the Contest will begin.

While I hope to have all the Matches occur in consecutive weeks, for this first Contest, I might start the first Match to see what happens and make necessary adjustments to procedures in place to improve the process before drawing a second number out of the hat to determine which Match will occur next.

This Contest represents the first of a series of contests involving the singer/songwriters who have been interviewed on Alive with Clive starting in July of 2011.

In due course, I plan to arrange live concerts for singer/songwriters who become Alive with Clive SuperStars in these Contests.
