“Window” by Alex P. Taylor

Hello Friends:

Window by Alex P. Taylor is the eighth song to be featured on my Blog as part of my mission to provide you with inspiration through songs that have been performed by musicians on Alive with Clive over the past couple of years.

Alex performed Window during his interview on Alive with Clive on August 1, 2008.

Alex is from Elmwood, Connecticut, is known to his friends as A.P.T., and sounds like Yusuf Islam (the artist formerly known as Cat Stevens).  As mentioned in his Bio on his My Space page, he wrote the lyrics to his first song when he was nine, but it wouldn’t be until early in the summer of 2005, after the death of a good friend and co-worker, that he would rediscover and truly embrace his passion and gift of songwriting.  In March of 2007, he began to record his debut album, Stop Signs and Red Lights, at SherStudios in Southington, Connecticut, under the wisdom and guidance of Jamie Sherwood.  Alex is unique in that he constructs his songs using only a pen, paper and micro-cassette recorder.  His wish is for people to listen to his words and find answers to some of their issues.  His next CD, Don’t Miss the Bus, is being released at the end of May 2009.

Window is an excellent song with the potential to become a timeless classic.  It’s a song for people who have dreams they know they want to fulfill, yet feel they can get around to pursuing their dreams someday.  In Window Alex reminds us that the window of opportunity for us to fulfill our dreams is not likely to remain open forever, and so the time to take action is now.
