Abstinence Instead Of Condoms?

Hello Friends:

When I logged onto www.msn.com this morning, I saw a headline that said:

Pope: Condoms not the answer vs. AIDS

Since The Alive with Clive Top 20 compilation CD is being created to raise at least a billion dollars for people suffering from AIDS and to prevent the further spread of AIDS in South Africa, I was naturally intrigued by this headline and clicked on the link to read the article.

In the article, it is reported that about 22 million people in sub-Saharan Africa are infected with HIV, according to UNAIDS. In 2007, three-quarters of all AIDS deaths worldwide were there, as well as two-thirds of all people living with HIV.

After reading the article, I decided to issue this Press Release, which is also available for you to see at:

Alive with Clive’s Clive Wonders If A Call For Abstinence Will Work To Solve Africa’s AIDS Crisis

In response to a report that Pope Benedict XVI has said that condoms are not the answer in Africa’s fight against AIDS, in which it was implied that abstinence is the answer, Clive Swersky, host and producer of Alive with Clive and creator of The Alive with Clive Top 20, wonders whether a call for abstinence instead of condoms will represent a workable solution.  Instead, inspired by an article by Bill Gates he read in TIME Magazine in August last year, he suggests that the world begin to focus on a more creative and innovative solution involving a new kind of capitalism he calls synergistic philanthrocapitalismTM, described at www.synergisticphilanthrocapitalism.com

“From my perspective, the urge to have sex is one of the strongest urges possessed by most human beings,” says Clive, “so I am in favor of an approach that takes into account the realities of the situation and enables people to be fully, responsibly and morally self-expressed rather than totally suppressed.”

Clive is also the creator of The Alive with Clive Top 20.  It consists of musicians he has interviewed on Alive with Clive — The TV Show That Inspires You To Multiply Your Magnificence!

For the past several months, fans of musicians who have been interviewed on Alive with Clive have been voting for them to be included in The Alive with Clive Top 20.  A song from each musician or band who ends up in The Alive with Clive Top 20 on the day voting ends will be included on a compilation CD to be sold to raise at least a billion dollars for people suffering from AIDS, and to prevent the further spread of AIDS, in South Africa.

Inspired by a cover story article written by Bill Gates, the founder of Microsoft, for the August 11, 2008, issue of TIME Magazine, Clive also established the Web site, www.synergisticphilanthrocapitalism.com, on which he outlined his innovative plan to sell at least 50 million Alive with Clive Top 20 compilation CDs (or a downloadable version) as part of his application to receive funding through Google’s Project 10100 for ideas to change the world by helping as many people as possible.  Clive describes synergistic philanthrocapitalismTM, which involves harnessing synergies obtained by combining philanthropy with capitalism, as “the exciting new way to do business so that everybody wins.”

From the start of the creation of The Alive with Clive Top 20, Anthony Melillo, a talented 17-year old singer/songwriter from Yorktown, New York, has held the # 1 position on The Alive with Clive Top 20 Chart.  A video clip of Anthony singing one of the songs from his recently-released debut CD, Just Gettin’ Started, called That’s My Son, with his brothers, Joseph and Nick, can be seen on The Alive with Clive TV Channel on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/high5clive, where another 40 video clips of songs performed on Alive with Clive are also available for viewing.

Everyone who votes for a musician or band to be in The Alive with Clive Top 20 gains instantaneous free access to over 10 of the most life-enriching bonuses available on the internet today, including The Science of Getting Rich by Wallace D. Wattles (the inspiration for The Secret) and Give To Live — The Real Secret To Manifesting Life’s Rewards, by Dr. Rick Barrett, which incorporates The Greatest Money Making Secret In History by Dr. Joe Vitale, one of the commentators in The Secret.

Other emerging musicians who rank high up on The Alive with Clive Top 20 Chart include Irena Hart, founder of Harmony4Kidz, a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to providing assistance to children in need, who also recently released a CD called Heartstrings, and Joe Venice, another blossoming teenager who

recently sang the National Anthem before the start of a Knicks Game at Madison Square Garden.  Additional popular musicians doing well on the Chart include Kylie Edmond, Dan Sheehan, Cassandra Kubinski, Jeneen Terrana, John Taglieri, Joe Travers, Jessica Labus, Lisa Redford and Alex P. Taylor.  The fastest movers up the Chart in recent weeks have been Allison Scola, flying high on the wings of her new debut CD, A Braver Kind, and Serotonen, an exciting new band that is about to release its debut CD and make its mark on the college circuit.

  1. Jaye says:

Thanks for your insight and unique perspective; it happens in this country, too, though more hidden where it is most concentrated is the number of children who are born, or conceived through rape, many of whom become orphaned by the death of their parents in their earliest years. ‘Education’ often doesn’t help a many infected, knowingly or otherwise, in a country that oppresses and devalues women and children.

Whatever your thoughts on solutions, taken into account the actual number of people who respect each other within the ‘age of consent’ to those who fall victim to rape (including ‘marital rape’) in realistic proportions will give one an idea of the realities that are to be dealt with if action plans are to begin to be effective.
